Econintersect: Guy Lerner, an investment adviser who posts at TechnicalTake.com, tracks a number of factors that, taken together, comprise his composite inflation indicator (the “inflationator”). After rising from September through November, this indicator has been declining for several weeks.The elements of the indicator include crude oil, gold, and yields on the 10 year Treasury bond. The graph below shows the S&P 500 stock index on top and the red curve on the bottom is the inflationator.
