San Fransisco, December 13, 2010 (Financial Times): Yahoo is on the verge of cutting between 600 and 650 jobs, or nearly 5 per cent of its workforce.
The latest round of cuts will be directed at Yahoo’s product groups, according to the person familiar with the plan. Yahoo is trying to refocus development efforts on new markets with the greatest potential for growth. The company has had a history of failing to sieze dominant positions on the internet, as companies such as Google and Microsoft have gained an upper hand.
