- Major Asia markets close lower, suppliers follow Apple downward (CNBC) Asia Pacific stocks mostly declined on Tuesday amid dampened expectations on the Fed cutting rates this month. Mainland China shares mostly continued to fall after losses on Monday. The dollar last traded higher at 97.476 against a basket of its peers, climbing from levels below 96.800 in the previous week. U.S. crude futures declined 0.33% to $57.47 per barrel, while Brent crude futures dropped 0.12% to $64.03 per barrel. Spot gold was 0.5% lower at $1,387.80 per ounce, having earlier touched $1,386.11, its lowest since July 2. U.S. government debt prices were lower Tuesday morning, as investors awaited Fed speeches and a fresh batch of economic data.
