The one grabbing the most headlines, though not necessarily for the right reasons, is the facial recognition software used to unlock the device. While many remain skeptical of relying on this technology as the primary way to access their phone, forecasts by Acuity Market Intelligence suggest that come 2019, all smartphones will have at least some kind of biometric technology on board. By 2020, the same is expected to apply to wearable tech and tablets.
