This year, 323 millon Americans have celebrated Independence Day.

The majority of them took to the great outdoors in order to enjoy a barbecue or picnic. Many more attended fireworks or community celebrations. According to the National Retail Federation, an average person in the U.S. spent $71.34 on food, with expenditure on food items across the nation amounting to about $6.8 billion.
