Thoughts for Memorial Day

Written by Frank Li

Memorial Day is just around the corner. While most of our thought should be with the deceased soldiers, let’s give deeper consideration to this day by asking the following four questions:

  1. Why has America lost so many soldiers?

  2. Why has America been involved in so many wars after WWII?

  3. Is it really worth it – the life, the blood, and the treasure?

  4. How can we prevent a continuance of more of the same?

Next, let me answer these four questions one by one.

1. Why has America lost so many soldiers?

Because America has been involved in numerous wars after WWII, far more than any other country! Here is an excerpt from Wikipedia (U.S. military casualties of war):

War

Date

U.S. Deaths

Vietnam War

1955-1975

58,209

Afghanistan War

2001-present

2,229

Iraq War

2003-2011

4,488

2. Why has America been involved in so many wars after WWII?

Because we have failed to follow the advice by Presider Eisenhower (Eisenhower’s Farewell Address)!

What is the worst example, so far? The Iraq War, as highlighted below! President Bush lied; many U.S. soldiers died (Blagojevich and Pearl Harbor: They Are Related!)!

For more, read: America: A Culture of War.

3. Is it really worth it – the life, the blood, and the treasure?

No! Here are two famous quotes:

4. How can we prevent a continuance of more of the same?

Stop Democratic Imperialism!
