Econintersect: Obamacare and its implications have drawn up much controversy and debate over effectiveness, cost and idealogical conflicts. In general, many young people as well as people who consider themselves perfectly healthy may see the individual mandate for applying for Obamacare as an infringement on their rights and a completely useless pursuit. It does ask the question, “What does it do for me, being an individual who will most likely not take advantage of the benefits of Obamacare?”
Eliminating the individual mandate to obtain health insurance would decrease effectiveness and increase taxpayer costs according to the Congressional Budget Office.
