Econintersect: The Case-Shiller data released yesterday (analysis here) showed a continuing decline, but Altos Research which tracks the market in real time says the spring recovery is already underway.
Remember, the Case-Shiller is a 3-month rolling average, so the Spring 2011 market isn’t captured yet using this repeat-sales index.
They back up the statement with a current graphic of the Altos 20-city index:
The seasonal spring cycle with rising prices happens every year, and there are no indications to date that the price increases this year are larger than previous years.
