According to a YouGov survey, people in Britain and the United States are light-years apart when it comes to the origins of life.

Follow up:

Was life on Earth created by God? Interestingly, just 15 percent of Britons said "yes" to this question, compared to 53 percent of Americans. 40 percent of all British respondents agreed that life developed because conditions on Earth happened to be suitable. Just 15 percent of people in the United States agreed with this argument.

This chart shows the results of a survey asking people how they think life on Earth began originally.
