The smartphone has become an indispensible tool for fans following the World Cup.

Follow up:

58 percent of smartphone owners plan to use their devices for up to the minute news from the tournament overall, as well as their teams. 46 percent of them use their handsets to interact with content such as live video and audio streams. Somewhat surprisingly, only 30 percent of smartphone owners planned to use their devices for social activities such as managing fantasy leagues or posting pictures of their friends enjoying the game.

This chart shows how people plan to use their smartphones to follow the world cup.
