I am Calayan Rail (Gallirallus Calayanensis) of the rail, moorhen, and coot family (Rallidae).
I am endemic to Calayan Island, the largest of the Babuyan Islands group located at the northern end of the Philippines archipelago. I share my habitat with nearly 16,200 humans in an area of 49,453 hectares (122,200 acres). As the island expands its roads to welcome progress my habitat shrinks.
