Far East Stocks Pushing Slightly Higher Monday Morning after a Bad Week

Econintersect:  Only Indonesia stocks (-0.1%) and the Nikkei 225 in Tokyo (unchanged)  are not higher in early trading Monday.  The other nine major markets are all advancing fractionally.  The largest gains are Malaysia (+0.5%), along with Sydney  and Mumbai (Bombay, each up by 0.4%).  Last week eight  markets were down, led by Malaysia (-2.3%).  Sydney, Taiwan, Tokyo and Hong Kong with losses from 1.6% to 1.8%.  The following table shows all the data for the week and year-to-date.
