USA Funding Growth Worldwide

QE2 dominated this week’s news, but there was also a good employment report. Other economic indicators were mixed.

The Banking Crisis Has a Long Way to Go

The banking has not reached the halfway point, maybe not even the midpoint of the first quarter. The FDIC has recorded 307 bank failures. The total could reach 1,800 – 3,000.

Economy and GDP

Economic releases w/e 27 August 2010 continue to paint an economy with slowing but positive growth. GDP for 2Q2010 was revised downward to 1.6% annualized.
