Business sales (manufacturing, wholesale, and retail) improvement in February is so small that it might not exist. Business sales are probably unchanged.
Business sales remained strong in January 2011. Econintersect calculates sales were up 11% YoY using unadjusted data, and up over 2% MoM (comparing December and January YoY increases). Business data was good in January.
With the release of overall business sales data for December 2011 – manufacturing + wholesale + retail, it is concluded that December was a pretty good month.
Unadjusted sales growth of wholesale trade sector of the economy has been up-trending steadily for the last four months. This was the best December sales ever.
Business sales remain strong in September 2010 – business sales are the combined sales volumes of manufacturing, wholesale and retail trades. There is nothing in this September 2010 business data to suggest we are at recession’s door. The data appears normal and strong for a September and displaying the usual seasonal pattern seen in every recent year except 2008.
