A huge adversity like Covid-19 does not necessarily change anything, essentially, but reveals who you are, truly. As both India and America have been suffering hugely from Covid-19, there is no better time than now to profoundly compare the two countries, from Covid-19 to governance.

1. Covid-19: India and America
The video below highlights Covid-19 cases and deaths worldwide, with America and India topping both lists (of cases and deaths).
While America is back toward the “normal”, thanks to the vaccines and vaccinations, India is expecting its worst days ahead – Watch the video below.
2. Covid-19: East Asia
Overall, East Asia has handled Covid-19 much better than the rest of the world, for one profound reason: Confucianism in the cultures and governance, despite democracy here and there.

3. India vs. America
India is one of the six great ancient civilizations that has survived to date (Civilizations: Past, Present, and Future).
In contrast, America is merely an experiment, far from being a civilization, let along a long-lasting one like India (or China).
Simply put, America today is similar to India 2,000 years ago in two major ways, at least:
- Diversity (e.g., race & ethnicity, religion, and even language).
- Self-governing almost to the extreme of governance-less.
4. It’s governance, stupid!
Governance is hard.
Governance is everything!
4.1 Governance in America
Simply put, America is practically governance-less.

4.2 Governance in India
Like America, India is practically governance-less, thanks to democracy.
More profoundly, India has the worst combination of socialism and capitalism, while China has the best. Covid-19 has just made it more obvious.
Here is a heart-breaking news story: People in India are being cremated in parking lots with so much demand that families have to take tickets and wait.

5. It’s China, stupid!
Everything is relative – America looked great and India looked Okay, until China’s comeback … The image below is worth more than 1,000 words.
In short, both America and India are behind China in governance by 200 years, at least!
6. Summary
Like China, India is an ancient civilization. Like China, India must strive to find its own path to success in a modern time like this.
Unlike a long-enduring civilization like India (or China), America is merely an experiment with a long way to go to prove itself. Simply put, America must (1) abandon the ridiculous notion of “American exceptionalism”, (2) accept China’s comeback as a reality, and (3) reform its failing political system at home, rather than trying to slow China down by throwing rocks at her, from Hong Kong, from Xinjian, from the stupid “Quad” (Blinken to hold virtual ‘Quad’ meeting with Australia, India, Japan).
7. Closing
Both India and America should learn from China, especially on governance! Here is how to start …
