Can any country possibly be more exceptional than America, which was founded with neither a king nor a pope? No, of course not! Yet, today, not only is America most religious among the developed countries, she also seems to be yearning for a king, if not a living God (Is Donald Trump a God?). Why is that?
It’s the failing political system, stupid!
In this post, I will describe the Second American Revolution now under way.

1. What is the First American Revolution?
There is no dispute about this. The [First] American Revolution ended in 1783, when America won independence from Britain.
2. What is the Second American Revolution?
There are many claims, from the War of 1812 to the American Civil War, as described in Wikipedia – Second American Revolution, without consensus.
Below is my definition:
It started in 2008, when Barack Obama was elected American President. It continued in 2016, when Donald Trump was elected American President. It is still on-going …
3. What is the Second American Revolution about?
Against the political establishment, in search of something, anything, different!
In other words, Americans were so fed up with the establishment that we were willing to try something, anything, different!
Can anybody possibly be more different than Barack Obama or Donald Trump?
3.1 2008
Two highlights in 2008:
- The endless wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
- Financial crisis of 2007-2008.
The country swung to the far left. As a result, a black man, even with his middle name being “Hussein”, was elected American President.
How did President Obama do? Not good [enough]! For more, read: Correctly Assessing President Obama.
3.2 2016
Two highlights in 2016:
- After eight years of the Obama administration, many white Americans had enough.
- Everything foreign was bad, from trade, to immigrants, to the wars.
The country swung to the far right. As a result, Donald Trump, a very flawed person without any government or military experiences, was elected American President.
How has President Trump been doing? Not good [enough]!

4. More on President Trump
Has President Trump made America better? Yes, especially the economy, thanks to the tax reforms and cuts in regulations (Grading President Trump’s First Year in Office: B!)!
Will President Trump make America great again? No!
Why not?
To make America great again, we must reform our failing political system, as I have suggested (An Open Letter To President-Elect Donald Trump). But President Trump is not doing that. Worse yet, he has apparently become a victim of the system (just like most, if not all, of his predecessors): getting re-elected ad nauseam! For more, read: President Trump: Governing vs. Campaigning for 2020.
Now, what’s the difference between campaigning and governing?
5. Discussion
Neither election has resulted in needed changes to possibly make America great again!
What does that mean to the revolution?
Forcing President Trump to do the right thing (i.e. reforming our political system) now or having more elections, hoping for different results.
5.1 What’s wrong with our political system and how to fix it?
Please read the image below and judge for yourself.
5.2 Will America fix our failing political system?
No!
Why not?
Democracy will again prove to be an invalid form of government, totally in capable of functioning, let alone adapting! For more, read: End of Democracy?
It’s time to prove that America is exceptional, truly!
6. How will the Second American Revolution end?
Via bloodshed, most likely, such as another civil war to end gun violence (America: Guns vs. Slavery) or World War III to destroy us as a species. For more, read: History 2.0: Western Liberal Democracy is a Big and Fat Lie!
7. Closing
It’s presumptuous to define the Second American Revolution like this. But you get the point, hopefully: reform our failing political system or continue to fail!
Now, please sit back and enjoy the long, but excellent, video below.
