Econintersect: Last summer an advertising video released in Australia revealed why to wall on the Mexican border would not protect the U.S. from undocumented imigration. The video was recorded on a 360fly, a camera made by an Australian start-up.
Here is the description from YouTube:
Trump’s Wall Built by 180LA for 360fly Parody Video, It has been banned from major American networks ABC, NBC, and CBS.
To build buzz around its immersive video camera, startup 360fly has released a video poking fun at Donald Trump’s absurd plan to build a wall on the border of Mexico to keep immigrants from entering the U.S.
The 60-second spot, created by 180LA, shows an audience member using the 360fly 4K 360-degree video camera to film Mr. Trump revealing the wall, but the lens picks up more than the Republican presidential candidate’s calculated comb-over.
It shows a barrage of immigrants — including a mariachi band member and street vendors — crossing the border through a tunnel under the wall, and one even jet-packs over it. The spot ends with the tagline: “Get a broader perspective. Miss Nothing.”
In addition to mocking Mr. Trump, the video parodies Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, showing the two Democrats welcoming the border jumpers into the U.S.
Peter Adderton, CEO of 360fly, told Los Angeles Times earlier today that TV networks declined to air the commercial because “they are worried about political neutrality and reinforcing stereotypes.”
