Research by Quantic Foundry suggests the motivators behind playing video games differ according to a number of factors, one of which is gender. As our infographic shows, it comes down to a question of ‘compete or complete?‘. The most common motivation for male gamers was the desire to compete and get as high as possible in the rankings while women were driven the most by getting all collectibles and actually finishing the game.
