If you live in Ireland, make extra sure you close all the windows and lock the door before you leave the house in winter.
The winter months are actually the very worst months of the year for burglaries across the country. They have also generally increased over the past decade. In 2004, there were 24,913 burglaries in Ireland and that increased to 27,625 in 2014. Read more about why burglaries are so common during the Irish winter in The Journal.
