Financial Sector: A Parasite on the Economy

The function of the financial sector is presumed to be to provide financial functions for the economy.  (reference)

If the economy is measured correctly by GDP (if that is correct is another question for another day, but we will mention it one moretime later), then the financial sector should profit from its activities in relaitively the same proportion as it adds to GDP.  That is not the case as we will outline here
