9/11: Remembered in America, But Not Understood!

Written by

The latest phase of modern American history started on September 11, 2001. So it's critical that we Americans not only remember what happened on that day, but also truly understand it, in order to prevent a recurrence. Unfortunately, many of us still do not understand it to this date. Why not? There are many reasons. Let me give you one example: CNN's interview of Leon Panetta on 9/11/2016.

1. The video

Below is the published video of the interview, highlighting, presumably, the most important part for CNN and its audience.

2. The transcript

Here is the link to the full transcript of the entire interview:

Below is an excerpt from the transcript:

... we also need to consider the root causes that have produced terrorism, which, frankly, we have not done enough to confront.

What a big statement by Leon Panetta, a former Secretary of Defense and CIA Director!

3. Discussion

Think about it: 15 years after President George W. Bush declared the War on Terror, as the direct result of the 9/11 attack, we have not done enough to confront the root causes that have produced terrorism! How is that possible?

Worse yet, the part containing the excerpt is not even in the published video! Why was it omitted?

The mainstream media and the political establishment work together for their own benefits, while blatantly misleading the American people by deliberately hiding the big but inconvenient truth! For more, read: Brainwashing in Communism and in Democracy.

We, as a nation, must better understand the 9/11 attack, as well as what happened before and after it! Here is my summary:

  1. The 9/11 attack was an attack on America, to which we were compelled to respond and we did, mightily! For more, read: America’s War in Afghanistan.
  2. The 9/11 attack was primarily a result of our selfish and reckless foreign policy, especially after 1991, when the Cold War ended. For more, read: America's Post-WWII Foreign Policy.
  3. Our reaction to the 9/11 attack was much worse than the attack itself! The image below shows one perspective. For more, read: 9/11 Attack vs. Pearl Harbor Attack.

4. Closing

My fellow Americans, it’s time to be serious about 9/11!

The answer is not simply “they hate us”. Ask “why do they hate us so much?”

Now, please sit back and enjoy the video below.
