Did prehistoric modern humans live in Asia as long as 100,000 years ago or more? Recent archaeological research has discovered and analyzed fossil remains from caves in Laos suggest that modern humans were occupying southeast Asia 63,000 years ago. Previous theories of homo sapiens migration out of Africa pegged the first migration to about 50,000 years ago. Now that is seriously challenged and we now have a big question mark on just how long ago modern humans first left Africa.
