Opening Market Commentary For 11 Mar, 2015

Markets opened this morning fractionally in the green then sea-sawed down into the red as WTI oil fell to 47.34 testing it support. The averages have climbed back up into the green temporally as the WTI oil back away from the support.

The U.S. Dollar is continuing to trend upwards reaching 99.63 at 11 am not helping the averages reverse course. About the same time gold fell to 1146 as Brent is actually in the green. By noon markets were looking weak and indicators are pointing down.

Closing Market Commentary: Averages Closed Up While Trading Sideways Entire Session, Investors Uneasy

Closing Market Commentary For 05 Mar, 2015

The session ended up being slow, but not the almost grinding to a halt slow I was somewhat expecting. That could still come as investors are definitely being cautious with so many unknowns threatening to upset Mr. Markets apple cart.

By 4 pm there was a minor sell-off with moderate volume which is not unusual, but the short-term indicators are swinging to the bearish side and investors should pursue caution.

Opening Market Commentary For 05 Mar, 2015

Markets opened up, flat as expected and sea-sawed with a very small trend upwards that eventually failed and began to slip. All of this (?) action was with a very narrow range and falling volume. Indicators are fractionally bullish for now but expected to turn bearish either today or late as Monday.

By 12:45 the markets were still trading sideways in what might become quieter than usual as some traders head out early for the weekend like I am going to do.

Closing Market Commentary For 04 Mar, 2015

Nasdaq and the $RUT end lower by -0.3%, while the DOW is off 106 points. The SP500 was off -0.4% on low to moderate volume at the close. Investors are generally looking to see the markets do its correction thing after reaching new highs.

By 4pm the session ended with trading all afternoon in a very narrow zone and remaining in the red. There was a heavy burst of buying right at the end, but it isn't a harbinger of things to come, more likely a down session tomorrow.

Opening Market Commentary For 04 Mar, 2015

Markets opened down and continued the slide until almost 10 am where the averages started trading in a sideways fashion. Volume has been moderate with the bulls and bears each trying to take a position making the averages sea-saw back and forth.

By 11 am the WTI oil was trending down along with Brent and the U.S. Dollar was in the low 96's and threatening to push higher as the equities and bulls hang on.

Closing Market Commentary: Market Trading Very Slow, Averages Remain Down And Trading Was Sideways

Closing Market Commentary For 03 Mar, 2015

The averages lumbered along this afternoon mostly on low volume and trading sideways. One would think after yesterday's rousing climb to new historic highs were see a bit more enthusiasm from the 'sheeples', I mean there is no end to this bull run according to some.

By 4 pm I was glad to be heading out of the office. I mean I wasn't falling asleep or anything like that, but today was pretty boring. It is days like this that catch you off guard when all of a sudden the market wakes up and you have no plan to act upon.
