Global PC shipments totalled 75.6 million units in the second quarter of this year, continuing the downward trend for the PC industry. According to IDC, shipments declined 11.4 percent compared to last year's second quarter as the shift to smartphones and tablets continues.

Despite suffering a slight sales decline itself, Lenovo can be considered the only winner in the PC market. The Chinese company saw strong growth outside of its home markets and managed to significantly outperform the industry as a whole despite a double digit decline in Asia Pacific.
