The Skinny Guy Could Become a Giant (but it won’t happen)

The environmental argument for not building the Keystone pipeline has been demolished by the Appeals Court. The “employment” argument in favor of the pipeline is weak, because once it is built and in operation, the number of people required to keep it running will be small.
100 car oil train wreck burns near Mt. Carbon, WV – 16 February 2015.
The best environmental argument in FAVOR of the pipeline is a negative one – that transportation of crude oil by rail is inefficient and dangerous, as we have seen again only a few days ago when another crude oil rail shipment caught fire. We insult Canada by not building it. The oil will be pumped from the ground, transported, refined, and burned, whether or not the pipeline is built.
There is no longer any good reason not to build the Keystone pipeline. For both the Pro’s and the Con’s, it lives on as a symbol of………(you can fill in the blanks any which way you like).
The President has made a conscious decision to anger his Union constituency while catering to his Enviro constituency. He knows that responsible polls indicate that a majority of poll respondents favor the pipeline. He doesn’t care. I think he is setting up Hillary.
It is quite sad, in a way. We are watching an intelligent man deliberately diminish himself. He is missing a grand op.tunity to amend a souring legacy and to achieve lasting greatness as the Healer that he promised to be, but never has been, and probably never could be. Looking back now, how could he ever be a Healer? It’s not his nature, nor is it in his background. By inclination and prior activity, he is an Opposer; an Antagonist; a Confrontationist. He is the kind of person who thrives on controversy, especially if it is he who creates it. He believes that it’s part of the Job Description.
Regarding Keystone – Unfortunately, he will allow this Healing opportunity to pass him right by; for by his very nature he is blind to it.
For your Transcendental Inspiration of the Day: Check out the video clip of the State Department spokeswoman explaining to us uneducated peons that the way to prevent ISIS radicalism is to provide jobs for the youth of the nations where it has taken root.
And by all means avoid calling it by its right name.
