The United Kingdom lags behind many other countries when it comes to the highest minimum wage.

Follow up:

Take-home pay amounts to £4.58 an hour, quite a distance short of Australia where that number is £6.19.   Editor's note: The national minimum wage in the U.S. is $7.25 (£4.74).
