March 9th, 2013
in econ_news, syndication

Beppe Grillo is a comedian.  Does this name ring a bell?  Grillo jointly created and leads a political party that in just three years has become the largest in Italy.  Grillo’s Five Star Movement won more than a quarter of the vote in Italy’s general election in February, but he refuses to cut a deal with the centre-Left Democratic Party, which has slim control of the upper and lower houses of parliament but lacks a big enough majority to form a government. After watching his comedy, you know why he has become a force in Italian politics.
