Econintersect:  Four days ago GEI News published a letter that Col. Daniel Davis (pictured, click on photo for enlarged view) had sent to friends and col-daniel-davisSMALLacquaintances to advise them that he had written two reports about lies by top brass regarding the state of affairs in Afghanistan, one of them Confidential, for government use only, and another containing only unclassified information for which he had asked for Pentagon approval to release.  In addition he told his correspondents that he had given an interview to The New York Times and they should be prepared to see that in print as well.  The interview had already appeared in print on February 5 before the GEI News article was published.

Follow up:

Yesterday (February 10) Rolling Stone published a copy of Col. Davis 84 page unclassified report that the Pentagon had sat on for two weeks and for which approval to release had not been given.  The link to the report, "Dereliction of Duty II", is the third (last) item on the Sources list below.

  • Dereliction of Duty II (Unclassified report by Col. Daniel Davis dated 27 Jan 2012, Rolling Stone, 10 Feb 2012)
