Econintersect: Poll results of series of pentrating questions have been published by Douglas L. Schoen in a 29 slide presentation (see below). The questions probe how Americans are feeling about a variety of economic and political items. Choices offered for responses include nervous, anxious and angry as well as the negative reponses (not nervous, anxious or angry). Obama does not fare well in the poll results. Congress does not fare well in the results. Republicans do not fare well in the results. The implication is that ‘none of the above’ would have beaten out all the other choices.Does Schoen have an agenda? If you believe Fox News, where he is a commentator, Schoen is a Democratic pollster. Schoen has defended Fox against charges that it is partisan and favors Republicans.
If you believe Media Matters, Schoen is a supporter and fund raiser for GOP candidates and has accused him of posturing in the press to benefit his clients.
Schoen is a founding partner of Penn Schoen Berland, “a market research and consulting firm with over 30 years of experience that specializes in bringing the lessons from the political campaign trail into the corporate boardroom to give our clients the strategic insights they need to beat the competition.” (Quote is from the PSB website.)
All that debate aside, the poll questions and results are interesting. The slide show can be reviewed below:
