Econintersect:  Shanghai and Mumbai (Bombay) stock markets are closed Tuesday, April 12, 2011.  The other nine major markets in the Asia/Pacific region probably wish they were closed as well.  All nine markets are down midday.

Follow up:

The declines are substantial, with five of the nine markets down 1% or more.  The largest losses are Taiwan (-1.8%) and Tokyo (-1.7%).  The other markets down 1% or more are Seoul, Hong Kong and Sydney.  The only market that hasn't declined at least 0.7% is New Zealand (-0.2%).
