Econintersect: European stock markets were not influenced by gains in the far east overnight and finished lower Tuesday, March 22, 2011. Two markets eked out tiny gains, Geneva (+0.05%) and Madrid (+0.01%), but all the more substantial moves were down. Vienna led the way with a decline of 2.3%.Other significant losses were Brussels (-0.7%), Frankfurt and Oslo (-0.5%) and London (-0.4%). Paris declined 0.3%.
