March 9th, 2011
in Background

Econintersect:  Stockholm saw stocks rise 0.5% and Madrid was essentially flat (+.01%).  The other eight major markets in Europe were down.  Geneva lost 1% while Oslo, Paris and London each lost 0.6% to pace the losers.

Follow up:

Other losses were 0.5% in Frankfurt, 0.3% in Brussels and0.2% in Vienna while Amsterdam was almost unchanged at -0.04%.  Rising oil prices and a weak bind auction in Portugal weighed on the markets.
