Far East Stocks Starting the Week Weakly

Econintersect:  Five of the eleven major markets in the far east have changes exceeding 1% midday Monday (March 7).  Four of the five are down.  All told, seven markets are in the red and only four are advancing.

Follow up:

Shanghai is the one big gainer, up 1.8%.  The four markets selling off are Tokyo (-1.9%), Mumbai (Bombay) (-1.8%), Sydney (-1.3%) and Seoul (-1.2%).  The only other markets to have changed more than 0.4% are also down:  Taiwan (-0.8%) and Malaysia (-0.6%).
