Econintersect: Rail traffic YoY growth widened in week 6 of 2011 ending 12 February according to Railfax.
The big growth in rail traffic occured in the 1st quarter of 2010 – and year-over-year comparisions will shortly be compared to larger base data.
Rail traffic in the current week jumped from -0.6% year-to-date last week over 2010 levels to 11.5% in this sixth week of the New Year. Year-to-date gains rose from 6.1% last week to 7.0% this week.
