Doug Short: Small Business Optimism Trying to Break Above Recessionary Levels

depressed Econintersect:  Analyst Doug Short points out that the reported improvement ("modest increase" in the words of  the National Federation of Independent Business report) of the NFIB Small Business Optimism Index is at the point of trying to get above the low points of previous recessions.

Follow up:

Short's analysis reveals that small business optimism is showing more strength than the Conference Board's Consumer Confidence Index, which also remains at the low levels seen in previous recession bottoms.  Doug Short hosts the website
