Even as China continues to emerge as the new superpower in the global economy, its consequences are expected to define world tourism as well, according to Professor Haiyan Song, chair professor of tourism at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Follow up:

“China will become the largest tourist destination in the world after 2015,” Professor Song predicted in ITB World Travel Trends Report 2010-2011.  China now ranks third in the world as a tourist destination, with 53 million visitors in 2010.  Inbound travel to China is expected to grow to 188 million by 2015.  By the same year China is expected to become the leader in outbound travel as well, with 79 million forecast.  This is expected to move China ahead of current world leader Germany.  Read more at IB Times.....
