Fed Surveys Positive in January

Econintersect:  Both the Philly and New York Fed survey results for manufacturinbg activity have reported growth in news releases this week.  These are volatile opinion surveys, rather than hard data which will come later in the month.  Nonetheless, these surveys are showing characteristics  similar to January, 2010, which was the first month of moderately strong first half of the year growth.
