Business News Americas: The digital gap between Latin America and developed regions like Europe is closing. Countries like Chile and Brazil will not be far behind their US and European counterparts in launching LTE, Antonio Grande, head of technology for the Telefonica account with Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN), told BNamericas. LTE offers 50% more spectral efficiency than other mobile data technologies.According to Grande, who is based in Spain, Telefonica’s network in Chile is just as advanced or even more so than it is in countries like Germany and the UK; as such, Nokia Siemens Networks is directing significant resources to Latin America.
